Terms of Service

Last updated:

These terms govern your use of ComplianceMap — a reviewed AML/KYC regulatory-change and comparison workbench for European compliance teams, starting with France, Belgium and Luxembourg source packs — including the marketing site at compliancemap.org, the booking flow on the walkthrough page, the contact form on /contact, and the product application at app.compliancemap.org.

By using the site, booking a walkthrough, sending a contact-form message, or signing up to the product you agree to these terms.

Contact: contact@compliancemap.org.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 16 years old to use the site or to book a walkthrough. If you act on behalf of a firm, you confirm that you are authorised to do so.

2. Acceptable use

You may use the site to evaluate ComplianceMap, request a walkthrough, and contact us. You agree not to:

  • Use the site or product to violate any law or third-party right.
  • Probe, scan, or stress-test the infrastructure other than as part of a coordinated security disclosure to contact@compliancemap.org.
  • Submit fake bookings, automated form submissions, or use the contact form to send spam or unsolicited commercial messages.
  • Resell, redistribute, or scrape content from the marketing site beyond ordinary reading and citation.
  • Re-identify, dox, or build profiles of individuals named in the product's indexed regulatory sources in a way that would be unlawful under GDPR or comparable law.

ComplianceMap monitors regulatory sources published by official authorities and structures them for review by compliance professionals. We make commercially reasonable efforts to keep the index current and accurate, but:

  • We are not the official publisher; the canonical text of any regulation, circular, or guideline is the one published by the issuing authority.
  • Documents and structured facts are provided as-is with no warranty of completeness, currency, or fitness for any particular purpose.
  • Translations are for reading convenience only; the original-language text remains the evidence.
  • Nothing on the site or in the product is legal advice. ComplianceMap supports a compliance team's reviewed decision; it does not replace it, and using it does not create a lawyer-client or advisor-client relationship.

4. Plans and billing

The marketing site and the walkthrough booking flow are free to use. Product-side plans, pricing, and billing terms will be presented at the point of sign-up when those plans become available, and will be incorporated into these terms by reference.

5. Intellectual property

  • The ComplianceMap name, the site design, the structured product schema, the comparison and review workflow, the ingestion and verification pipeline, and all derived metadata are our intellectual property and, where applicable, protected by EU sui-generis database rights.
  • Underlying primary sources — statutes, regulations, circulars, guidelines, and equivalent regulatory output — are public or licensed by their issuing authority; their original copyright (where any subsists) belongs to that authority.
  • You retain ownership of your contact messages, your firmographic context provided in the booking flow, and any input you supply when using the product.

6. Suspension and termination

We may suspend or remove access if you breach these terms, abuse the site or product, or interfere with other users. Where the breach allows it, we will give reasonable advance notice and an opportunity to cure. You may stop using the site at any time.

7. Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our aggregate liability for any claim arising from your use of the site or product is limited to the greater of (a) €100 or (b) the fees you paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, including loss of profits, data, or goodwill.

Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law (for example, for fraud, gross negligence, or death or personal injury caused by negligence).

8. Privacy

Your use of the site and product is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these terms.

9. Changes

We may update these terms from time to time. The version published on this page at the time of your use governs that use. Material changes will be announced on this page; where we hold an email for you we will give reasonable advance notice for substantive changes.

10. Governing law and venue

These terms are governed by French law. Any dispute that cannot be resolved amicably will be submitted to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts of Paris, France — without prejudice to mandatory consumer-protection rules in your country of residence.
